When you’re in the heart of cider country it would be rude not to pay homage to our local tipples. Hailing from the three cider counties of Herefordshire, Gloucestershire and Worcestershire, and beyond, these locally-produced ciders show the magic that happens when you blend heritage fruit with traditional methods and modern-day innovation


Hogan’s Cider

Made from the fresh pressed juice of cider apples grown in the three counties of Gloucestershire, Herefordshire and Worcestershire, this award-winning cider is pure and refreshing.

Drink this: the Medium Cider is golden, well-balanced, slightly sparkling cider with caramel, butterscotch and dried fruit aromas.


Badgers Bottom

This is a highly drinkable sweet-medium cider brewed by Hayles Fruit Farm in Toddington using apples picked from their own orchards. Cider has been made on the farm for centuries and is still made using traditional methods today.

Drink this: Badgers Bottom Medium Cider is a fun, lively drink that’s full of surprises.

Wilce’s Cider

Heralding from the heart of cider country in Ledbury, the Wilce family has been making cider for six generations. Today, Brian Wilce draws on his ancestors’ passion and skill for making cider to create a range of drinks, blended from the 34 varieties of cider apples grown in the family’s cider apple orchards.

Drink this: The Medium Cider in a bottle is a lightly sparkling, delicately balanced cider at 6% ABV.


Severn Cider

The Bull family has been making cider in the Forest of Dean, since 1956. Only unsprayed, locally-grown apples and pears go into Severn Cider’s award-winning drinks, which are decorated with hand-drawn labels depicting the surrounding countryside.

Pearson’s Cider

‘Made Slow’ is the tagline for this award-winning cider, created by former accountant Mike Pearson. The process of making cider takes time, and fermentation is left for as long as is necessary for the sugars to convert to alcohol.

Oldfield’s Cider

Made from picked and pressed Worcestershire apples, these ciders are created using modern techniques such as stainless steel fermentation tanks to ensure consistency in quality.

Drink this: The Multi-awarded Medium Cider was described as ‘lipsmacking’ in ‘The Independent’s’ feature on the Top 10 British Ciders.

Once upon a Tree

From humble beginnings creating cider in cold outbuildings at Dragon Orchard in 2007, these ciders have now picked up some heavy wight titles including BBC Radio 4’s Food & Farming Drinks Producer of the Year, Overall Champion Trophy at the International Cider & Perry Competition, and winner of the Bath & West Champion Perry Trophy.

Drink this: the Blenheim Superb Ice Cider is an alternative to dessert wine and picked up Supreme Champion at the Three Counties Show in 2018.


Henneys Cider

Mike Henney started making cider as a hobby in 1996, fermenting home-made cider in the airing cupboard. Today, Henney’s produces five varieties of award-winning cider, using a blend of cider apples from Herefordshire.

Drink this: served ice cold, Autumn Gold gives full-on refreshment with its lightly sparkling, medium-sweetness – totally apply with a hint of mellow spice.

Dunkertons Cider

In 2014, Ivor and Susie Dunkerton passed their cidery to son Julian Dunkerton and business partner, Bean. It has now become a must-go-to destination with a range of multi award-winning ciders and perries.

Drink this: with over six awards under its belt, Dunkertons Black Fox is a blend crowd-pleasing blend of 14 cider apples to give a deliciously rounded cider.


Celtic Marches

Eight cider apple varieties are grown on 200 acres of orchards in the Herefordshire countryside to create these award-winning ciders. Chosen for growth and taste profiles, the apples are then pressed and blended on site to produce ciders that are fresh and full of flavour.

Drink this: Slack Alice is a medium dry cider, well-rounded with a moreish sharpness.
