If you’re trying to impress on Valentine’s Day, then you can’t go wrong with a home-made cocktail. And these delicious cocktails come tried and tested from our local suppliers…


Bombay Sapphire’s Gin Mule


50 ml Bombay Sapphire Gin

15 ml lime juice

100 ml Ginger beer (chilled)

2  Fresh mint sprigs

2  lime wedges

Slice of fresh ginger (optional)


Method: Fill your copper mug to the top with cubed ice. Pour 50ml of Bombay Sapphire over the ice. Squeeze and drop in 2 wedges of lime. Top with ginger beer. Garnish with fresh mint and a slice of ginger.


Cotswolds Distillery's Paloma


50ml Cotswolds Dry Gin

10ml lime juice

60ml pink grapefruit juice

Soda water

Method: Fill a cocktail shaker with ice and add the first three ingredients. Shake and strain into an ice-filled highball glass. Top with soda water and garnish with a wedge of pink grapefruit.

Wildjac Distillery’s Bees Knees


50ml Wildjac Vodka

50ml Fresh Lemon Juice

1 Tablespoon Honey

50ml Warm Water

Method: In an empty shaker dissolve honey in warm water. Add vodka, lemon juice and ice cubes. Shake to combine. Pour through a strainer into a saucer. Garnish with a twist of lemon.


Penderyn Cariadd Rhudd (Crimson Love)


50ml Brecon Five Vodka Buynow

18ml measure crème de cassis

½ a teaspoon lime juice

Caster sugar

Method: Put all ingredients into a cocktail shaker with crushed ice. Shake well and serve in rocks glass.


Chase Distillery's Raspberry & Basil Gin Smash


50ml Chase Raspberry & Basil Gin 

20ml Fresh Lemon juice

10ml Sugar syrup

5 Basil leaves

Method: Muddle the basil leaves in the base of the shaker with the first 3 ingredients. Add cubed ice and shake until thoroughly chilled. Double strain into a rocks glass filled with ice and garnish with raspberries and a freshly picked basil leaf.
