Festive fizz

This is the best way to start every party but it doesn’t have to be champagne. You could do worse than supporting local producers by trying the many fantastic local sparkling wines. Or, for the budget-conscious, seek out a cheaper alternative – many French sparkling wines and cava offer a similar depth of flavour, or for a lighter fizz, prosecco is still everyone’s favourite party drink.

This sparkling rosé from the popular Stroud-based vineyard is charmingly well balanced with delicate bubbles. Made from 82% Pinot Noir and 18% Pinot Meunier grapes, you can taste the subtle raspberry flavours and toasted aromas which follow through and linger on the palate.

This Cremant de Limoux is made in partnership with Sieur d’Arques. It is blended with a majority of Chardonnay giving an elegant style. Minimum 12 month ageing in bottle adds creaminess and a touch of biscuit richness to the finish.
