The Winchcombe Scouts recently received a donation of almost £400 raised by shoppers at our Winchcombe store. Customers at the the store raised £366.45 through our Community Savings Scheme. For every £10 a customer spends in the store, they receive a Community Savings token which is then converted to cash to support local projects.
The money will be used to update and modernise a trailer that the Scouts need for their next camping trip.
Guy Warner said: “I am a big fan of the Scouts as they offer great opportunities for children in our area. I am pleased that the Scouts continues to have such a big appeal, especially when faced with the challenge presented by television and computer screens.”
Store Supervisor Allison was delighted to present the cheque to some of the Scouts leadership team.
