Welcome from Guy Warner
Dear Taste Club member,
As we all wait on tenterhooks about news of our covid liberation on June 21st, there’s plenty to keep us entertained in this month’s Taste Club.
First up, we’ll be toasting our incredible award-winning local wines during English Wine Week from 19-27 June. We are fortunate to have access to some ideal wine-growing countryside but also the innovative and pioneering spirit of some top-class winemakers. Book yourself a vineyard tour or a wine tasting afternoon and see for yourself what all the fuss is about – there are even special celebrations going on during English Wine Week – find the details here. And enter this month’s Prize Draw for the chance to win a bottle of award-winning local wine from Sixteen Ridges Vineyard.
It wouldn’t be an English summer without English strawberries and we’re delighted to welcome in the new season of berries along with a host of other summer flavours. Sadly, our incredible Evesham asparagus will only be around for another couple of weeks so get your fill while you can by trying the asparagus and potted shrimp butter recipe from David Hall, head chef at The Fish Hotel.
It also wouldn’t be an English summer without the quintessential (hopefully not soggy) picnic. There is news of a mini heatwave for June, so if that’s the case, grab yourself a hamper full of Old Farm Dorn’s Dornish pasties to take with you, or try making your own at home – check out the recipe here and a fantastic offer on all the ingredients required.
Here's looking forward to a summer of fun and freedom,
