Welcome from Guy Warner
Dear Taste Club member,
Summer is upon us which means it must be BBQ season! This means we can all enjoy an alfresco – albeit socially-distanced – meal with a select number of family and friends.
The main rule of thumb for a BBQ is keep it simple – you want to be enjoying this precious time with the people you care about rather than being a slave to the coals. What more do you need than some good quality local meat, maybe a rub or two, some fresh bread rolls and a few salads? Check out our feature for the local producers doing a great range of BBQ essentials – enter our prize draw and you could win a goodie bag full of BBQ products.
If you’re wondering what drinks to serve at your gathering, you can’t go far wrong with that quintessential English summertime drink, a G&T. But not just any old G&T – make it a local gin and spritz it up with a well-chosen garnish to bring out the botanical flavours of the Cotswolds – lavender, verbena and hawthorn are just some of the local ingredients you’ll discover in our top 5 local gins.
Elderflower is another locally-grown favourite and is present in a number of local gins. It’s also the inspiration behind one of our biggest local success stories, Bottlegreen Drinks. Check out the company’s latest drinks ranges with money off all Bottlegreen Cordials month.
Here’s to summer!
